While all of the Ashmair Bichon Frise are owned by myself, Ashling Connolly, we are a Team based Kennel and none of the magnificent successes which the kennel has had would be possible without the input of the other members on the team. My father John is an expert at getting us to the majority of shows and events in Ireland and the UK and also playing his part in lots of other ways while my mother, Mary, keeps the show on the road, organising the troops and looking after our every need. When it’s necessary for us to travel away from home we have great back up from our family support, Lisa, Leon and Noleen who look after Ashmair Castle and those Bichon’s who are not lucky enough to be traveling with us.

Our great friend Marie Hamill has given me the benefit of her many years of experience in the breed and her help and advice with presentation and handling is much appreciated and second to none. As a team, we all take great satisfaction from our successes and the part each person plays helps to keep us up there challenging for major awards.

We have also enjoyed the success of a productive relationship between Ashmair and the Warmingham Kennels of Lawrence and the late Ann Lee in the UK and we are grateful for the trust placed in us by them with their bloodlines and youngsters.

I myself have been exhibiting Bichon Frise for seven years and over those seven years I have been delighted to title twelve Champions in Ireland and owned and bred Champions and CC winners in the UK. The Ashmair Team have tasted success with this wonderful breed at the highest level including Best of Breed, CC and Best Puppy wins at Crufts, Best in Show at Breed Specialty events in both Ireland and the UK and Multiple All Breed Championship Show Best in Show and Group wins in Ireland.

Our aim is to be consistent in our goals to breed and exhibit to the highest standard possible with the Bichon Frise. We breed for Type and Temperament and all of our ‘Fluffs’ are also valued members of the family and not simply Show Dogs.

We endeavour to present our Bichons in top condition at every event and with this in mind we are dedicated to the high level of presentation necessary for this beautiful breed to be successful in all breed competition.

We also have a loyal and supportive group of friends and fellow exhibitors who support and help us at every show and who make our days in the show ring at the ringside such an enjoyable experience.
